My business has nothing to do with the arts! Why should I care about having a ballet, opera or orchestra in Dayton?

DPAA performances keep cultural dollars in Dayton, as concert-goers eat in area restaurants, visit area shops, park in area parking facilities, stay in area hotels, and pay taxes on these services. Our children's classroom learning is enriched through DPAA education programs that take place in 260 area public and private schools. The presence of these three great art forms enhances the region's quality of life, helping chambers and businesses recruit other businesses and employees.

What can partnership with the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance do for my business?

"Over one-half (56%) of those with an interest in the Arts say they would almost always or frequently buy a product sponsoring arts or cultural events over one that does not."

"Almost one-half (48%) of Americans with an interest in arts and cultural events expressed higher trust in companies that sponsor these events."

By helping underwrite the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance's children's education offerings, your business is making an investment in Miami Valley's future. All DPAA education programs make our region's schools stronger by enhancing children's ability to learn their classroom subjects through music education. According to The College Entrance Examination Board, children who receive music education at an early age score higher on standardized tests such as the SAT and reading proficiency exams because early sensory and motor development influences later cognitive, perception and language skills.

To become an Education Underwriter, call Connie McKamey, Foundation Gifts and Grants Manager, at (937) 224-3521, ext. 1111, or e-mail her.

In 2002, high school students whose school careers included music study or appreciation scored 64 points higher on the Verbal portion and 43 points higher on the Math portion of the SAT than their peers who had no arts coursework during their tenure.

For more information about these programs, call Gloria Pugh, Education Director at (937) 224-3521, ext. 1118, or e-mail her.

In addition to Series, Performance, and Education Sponsorships, the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance has an extensive giving program with benefits available for gifts of $500 and above.

To become a DPAA donor, call Laura Letton, Director of Individual Giving, at (937) 224-3521, ext. 1137, or e-mail her.
