Dayton Philharmonic to Perform Free Concert at Tabernacle Baptist with Church Choir
DAYTON OHIO (April 10, 2013) – Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra members and Music Director Neal Gittleman travel to Tabernacle Baptist Church on Sunday, April 21, at 4 p.m. for this season’s final Stained Glass Series concert with the Tabernacle Baptist Church Choir. The concert is free and open to the public; a reception will follow.
The program opens with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s The Impresario Overture, followed by the first and second movements of Mozart’s Symphony No. 38, also known as the Prague Symphony. “Dalla sua pace” from the opera Don Giovanni concludes the Mozart portion of the concert when the Tabernacle Baptist Church Choir joins the DPO to perform Psalm 117 and Bless the Lord, O My Soul.

This concert is part of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra 2012-2013 Stained Glass Series of concerts in community churches, which themselves are part of a series of community outreach efforts called the Norma Ross Memorial Community Concerts in honor of the late Mrs. Norma Ross, a tireless advocate for music and minority youth.
