DAYTON, OH (October 12, 2016) -- Celebrating its fourth full year of innovative and collaborative programming, the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance (DPAA) will hold its fourth annual Gala event on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 6:30 to midnight in Dayton’s beautiful Benjamin and Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center. The black-tie event brings together all that is special about the three arts organizations making up the DPAA -- Dayton Ballet, Dayton Opera and Dayton Philharmonic -- weaving them into a one-of-a-kind experience as special and groundbreaking as the DPAA itself. The largest annual fundraiser for the DPAA anticipates another sold-out event with 450 guests in attendance.

Its charter formalized in July 2012, the DPAA is the first nonprofit organization in the U.S. to simultaneously manage a symphony orchestra, an opera company and a ballet company while still maintaining the individuality of the three art forms. All three artistic organizations have maintained their distinct identities while uniting to create enhanced programming. The Gala will showcase these distinct identities and demonstrate how they work together to produce an evening to remember.

The evening’s theme, “Excite,” sets the stage for the joining of dance, instrumental and vocal performance.  Attendees are invited to a dinner of delectable cuisine with good friends, accompanied by specialty cocktails fitting to the “Excite” theme, unique silent and live auctions offering items to explore, experience, and enrich and, of course, excite, and a piano lounge for after-dinner entertainment.  New this year will be a special appearance from southwest Ohio crowd-favorite entertainers, The Menus, who will be performing in the Wintergarden Theatre, where partygoers can kick off their heels after dinner and dance until midnight!

The following is the schedule of events planned for this fabulous night of celebration:
* 6:30 to 7:30: Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres
* 6:30 to 10:00: Silent auction—explore, experience, entertain, enrich...Excite!
* 7:45: Seated dinner in the Wintergarden
* 9:00: Special one-night-only performance by Dayton Ballet, Dayton Opera, and Dayton Philharmonic in the Mead Theatre.
* 9:50 to midnight: Dancing in the Wintergarden to The Menus
* 9:50 to 11:00: Cocktails, music, and sports - Piano/ Music Lounge in the Mathile Theatre, Sports on view in the Plaza.

About the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance

The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance was formed in July 2012 as the result of a groundbreaking and innovative merger between the Dayton Ballet, the Dayton Opera, and the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. Together, they are the largest performing arts organization in the community, offering a tremendous variety of performance and education programs and setting a new standard for artistic excellence.  Dayton Performing Arts Alliance performances are made possible in part by Montgomery County and Culture Works, the single largest source of community funds for the arts and culture in the Miami Valley. The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance also receives partial funding from the Ohio Arts Council, a state agency created to foster and encourage the development of the arts and to preserve Ohio's cultural heritage. Funding from the Ohio Arts Council is an investment of state tax dollars that promotes economic growth, educational excellence, and cultural enrichment for all Ohio residents.  The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance is proud to be one of five performing arts organizations in the country selected to receive a three-year "Music Alive" grant from New Music USA and the League of American Orchestras.
