DAYTON, OH (January 10, 2018) – On Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 8 pm in the Mead Theatre of the Schuster Center, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra will present the fourth concert in the 2017–2018 Dayton Freight Rockin’ Orchestra Series, Windborne presents The Music of Led Zeppelin. The Dayton Philharmonic welcomes to the stage Guest Conductor Brent Havens for a night of tribute to one of the greatest bands of all time, Led Zeppelin. Associate Sponsor for this performance is Miller-Valentine Group.

In previous years, Windborne and the DPO have brought classic rock to symphonic heights, performing the music of The Who, Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd, The Doors, and, just last season, Whitney Houston. In February, the magic continues with The Music of Led Zeppelin. The Windborne musicians join with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra for a night when we can all "get the Led out"!

Founder of the band Windborne, Brent Havens has been writing music for television, theatrical movies, music libraries and industrial productions since 1980. Windborne’s first live production of classic rock music with orchestra was in late 1995 with this very production: The Music of Led Zeppelin. Windborne now has twelve different classic rock shows to its name, and since that first performance in 1995, band members have traveled the world playing their music with orchestras large and small. Brent Havens joins the DPO as guest conductor of Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra for this rockin' performance.

The lush, intricate music of Led Zeppelin is ideal for rock and orchestral arrangement. The evening’s performance features all the rock group’s signature songs: “Kashmir,” “Whole Lotta Love,” “All My Love,” “Immigrant Song,” “Black Dog,” “Good Times, Bad Times,” and, of course, “Stairway to Heaven.”

“And if you listen very hard, the tune will come to you at last. When all are one and one is all.” The Schuster stairways don’t actually lead to heaven, but the music inside the Mead Theatre on February 3 just might!

Tickets for Windborne presents The Music of Led Zeppelin range from $29 to $81 and are available at Ticket Center Stage (937) 228-3630 or online at www.daytonperformingarts.org.  Senior, teacher and student discounts are available at the box office. About the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance
The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance was formed in July 2012 as the result of a groundbreaking and innovative merger between the Dayton Ballet, the Dayton Opera, and the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. Together, they are the largest performing arts organization in the community, offering a tremendous variety of performance and education programs and setting a new standard for artistic excellence.  Dayton Performing Arts Alliance performances are made possible in part by Montgomery County and Culture Works, the single largest source of community funds for the arts and culture in the Miami Valley. The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance also receives partial funding from the Ohio Arts Council, a state agency created to foster and encourage the development of the arts and to preserve Ohio's cultural heritage. Funding from the Ohio Arts Council is an investment of state tax dollars that promotes economic growth, educational excellence, and cultural enrichment for all Ohio residents. In 2013, The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance was thrilled to be one of five performing arts organizations in the country selected to receive a three-year "Music Alive" grant from New Music USA and the League of American Orchestras. The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance is the proud recipient of a 2017-2018 Art Works grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
