Dayton Philharmonic Concertmaster Jessica Hung and a few of her good friends from the DPO present an afternoon of gorgeous chamber music in the intimate setting of the Dayton Art Institute. Jessica's program opens with works from the Mozarts; both father and son! Next, we hear a quintet from one of the young masters of classical chamber music, Franz Schubert, who had the magical city of Vienna as his inspiration for the wealth of music he created in his short 31 years of life. A trio is next for trumpet, violin and piano with a selection from contemporary composer Eric Ewazen, who hails from our great state of Ohio. The concert closes with a septet from the French Romantic composer Camille Saint-Saëns, a musical prodigy of the late 19th century who has been acclaimed as the “consummate master of composition,” having composed over 140 melodies over the course of his lifetime.
