The intimate sound of the voice accompanied by piano or by a small grouping of orchestral instruments is a central thread in the development of classical and popular music. When you couple the full range of the human voice with the beautiful sound of a few select instruments in perfect harmony, you have a magic that is unique in its own right. Sound and Song will explore selections from the repertory of chamber works that demonstrate this pairing to greatest effect. Vocalists from Dayton Opera’s Artists-in-Residence take center stage in the Dayton Art Institute Renaissance Theatre for this musical excursion.
