DAYTON OH (March 18, 2011) – The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Neal Gittleman will join Cincinnati-based percussion group Drums for Peace for “The Beat Goes On” on Sunday, April 3, 2011, as they present the final concert in the DPO’s 2010-2011 DP&L Family Series at 3 p.m. in the Schuster Center.
The concert will be a jubilant experience that will get kids young and old moving to the rhythm of life. The program will demonstrate how rhythm is a critical part of every musical genre – from world beat to pop to dance to classical. It will include a high-spirited blend of music from African, South American, European and American instruments and sound textures. Come early for fun family activities in the Schuster Center Winter Garden beginning at 2 p.m., sponsored by the Dayton Philharmonic Volunteer Association.
