Annual Magic Carpet Concerts scheduled for March 11 – 14 and March 18 – 20 at 9:45 am for preschoolers and 11:00 am for kids in primary grades
The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and Associate
Conductor Patrick Reynolds hit area highways the middle of March, to bring the joy, excitement, and fun of music to area school-age kids.
Known as Magic Carpet Concerts, the DPO might also call these five scheduled musical events Getting Down with the Phil, for getting down and performing orchestral music in a casual and fun manner is the essence of each program.
The DPO will be here and there at various locations around the city and will perform orchestral music in a casual and fun manner. This year’s Magic Carpet Concerts feature the classic favorite, Peter and the Wolf, brought to life by the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Gem City Ballet, and narrator Kay Bosse. The Magic Carpet ride begins on Tuesday, March 11 at Christian Life Center. Then, the DPO will visit Temple Israel (Wednesday, March 12), Salem Church of God (Friday, March 14), Wright State University (Tuesday, March 18) Southminster Presbyterian (Wednesday, March 19), and Ginghamsburg Church (Thursday, March 20). Concert times are 9:45 am for Preschool kids and 11:00 am for kids in the primary grades. Cost for each concert is $3.75 per person. Of course, parents and the young-at-heart are also invited.
