Dayton, Ohio (May 7, 2009) – On Wednesday evening, May 20 at 6:30 pm and again on Thursday morning, May 21 at 10:00 am, Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra Music Director Neal Gittleman will host the DPO Principal Quartet in Principally Perfect, a concert in which the DPO Principal Quartet adds a cello, and perform Schubert’s String Quintet in C, “one of the pinnacles of the chamber music canon often cited as a significant example of the composer’s legacy.” (James Liu, All Media Guide)
The program, the fourth – and final – concert in the DPO’s 2008-2009 Demirjian Chamber Exploration Series in the Mead Theatre at the Schuster Center, features the DPO Principal Quartet (Jessica Hung, Concertmaster; Andra Lunde Padrichelli, Principal Cellist; Sheridan Kamberger Currie, Principal Violist; Kirstin Greenlaw, Principal Second Violinist) joined by Christina Coletta DPO Assistant Principal Cellist.

Free pre-concert refreshments include pizza appetizers provided by sponsor Boston’s Bistro at the Gypsy for the Wednesday, 6:30 pm performance and complimentary coffee and donuts provided by sponsors Boston Stoker and Mercy Siena Retirement Community and tea provided by Basically British for the Thursday, 10 am performance.
