Sunday, March 30, 2008 5 PM concert is third concert in Stained Glass Series of free community performances
Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra members, Music Director Neal Gittleman, and Assistant Music Director Patrick Reynolds travel to Tabernacle Baptist Church on Sunday, March 30 at 5 pm for A Magic Carpet Ride at Tabernacle, a free DPO concert with the Tabernacle Baptist Church Choir.
Neal Gittleman will conduct the bulk of the program, which includes several works performed together with the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church Choir. For the feature selection, Peter and the Wolf, Patrick Reynolds will conduct, and Neal Gittleman will narrate. The program ends with Dello Thedford’s Shout for Joy and the Steffe-Wilhousky arrangement of The Battle Hymn of the Republic.
A reception will follow.

The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra (DPO) 2007-2008 Stained Glass Series is a new series of free community concerts, with the support of Central Chapel AME Church, Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, Tabernacle Baptist Church, and Omega Baptist Church. All Stained Glass Concerts are FREE. No tickets required. Generous seating is available.
Stained Glass Series attendees can purchase tickets at each of the Stained Glass concerts to hear a Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra Concert at the Schuster Center for only $5.00 each. The DPO has reserved a block of seats in the Orchestra section of the Mead Theatre (concert hall) for four Classical Series Concerts in its regular season. Each ticket is also an RTA bus ticket for that night! Tickets are on sale at each Stained Glass Concert, or in the individual church offices.
