DPO Percussion Trio will perform Sunday, February 24 at 2 pm at Trotwood-Madison High School
On Sunday, February 24 at 2 pm at Trotwood-Madison High School, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra Percussion Trio will present a free concert, open to the public, as part of its Community Performance Series. All three members of the DPO Percussion Trio are members of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra.
The program features an eclectic repertoire, which includes traditional drum and fife music, marches, fugues, and specialty pieces. The Three Camps, George Stone’s Lefty, and The Downfall of Paris lead off the program. Morton Gould’s Parade, Michael LaMattina’s own Savannah Etude, and J.F.W. Schneider’s Schwarzer Marsch follow. And Michael LaMattina’s own MicroFugue #2, Bartos’s Drei Stucke for xylophone and bells, Felix Ardnt’s Nola, and Russell Peck’s Lift Off conclude the program.
The Dayton Philharmonic Percussion Trio consists of Michael LaMattina, DPO Principal Percussionist; Don Donnet, DPO Principal Timpanist; and Jeffrey Luft, DPO Percussionist.
