As part of the 2006/2007 Stars of Tomorrow program, at 7 pm on Saturday, March 24 and Friday, March 30, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra will showcase two high school music ensembles.
On Saturday, March 24 prior to the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra’s Melodies & Milestones Classical concert, Lois Clark Ramey, Director of the Stivers School for the Performing Arts Philharmonic Orchestra, will conduct the high school orchestra in a free performance on the DP&L Stage in the Schuster Center Wintergarden.
On Friday, March 30 prior to the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra’s Heroes and Villains SuperPops concert, Ron Nelson, Director of the Oakwood High School Concert Band, will conduct the high school band in a free performance on the DP&L Stage in the Schuster Center Wintergarden.
The Stars of Tomorrow program is the effort of an anonymous benefactor to help provide performance opportunities and public exposure for high school ensemble members as well as opportunities to attend and experience Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra concerts. In addition to Stivers and Oakwood ensembles, the 2006/2007 Stars of Tomorrow program has previously helped showcase ensembles from West Carrollton, Beavercreek, Northmont, and Stebbins High Schools.
