Sunday, February 18, 3 pm concert at the Schuster Center features illustrator drawing cartoons synched to music
On Sunday, February 18 at 3 pm in the Schuster Center, Patrick Reynolds – Assistant Conductor of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor of the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra – will lead the DPYO in a musical tour of the world of cartoon and movie music.
The incredibly talented and dedicated student musicians of the DPYO will provide this musical romp featuring TV and movie music, from Warner Brothers cartoon classics to science fiction. Television superheroes, space aliens, and dancing hippos will be just part of the artistic fun, featuring music by Ponchielli, Rossini, and Williams, among others. And guest cartoonist Rob Shepperson will draw cartoons, visible on an overhead screen behind the orchestra, in synch with the music!
There will also be a cartoon drawing contest in the Wintergarden at 2 pm.
Tickets $5 – 13.50
