DAYTON OH (January 4, 2010) – The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra’s 09-10 National City SuperPops Series will continue with concerts featuring music from the legendary James Bond spy movies in Bond, James Bond on Friday and Saturday, January 15 & 16, 2010, both performances at 8 p.m. at the Schuster Center.
Fresh from a successful Dayton debut with the DPO on November 2008’s 50 Years of Rock ’n Roll concert, Canadian rock ensemble Jeans ’n Classics joins the DPO for these concerts for a big blast of action-packed spy music. Conductor Reynolds, Patrick Reynolds has also assembled a fast-paced orchestral tribute to other heroes of the silver screen for the first half of the program.
The James Bond films, in continuous production since 1962, are the most financially successful film series in history. They are studies in spellbinding forward motion punctuated by moments of romance, wit and kitsch, and always, great music propels the action.
While the concerts of January 15-16 are a tribute to the music of the films, and no movies or excerpts will themselves be shown, some cameo appearances by memorable characters are possible – maybe even a Bond Girl or two!
Tickets for the concerts range from $27 – $75 and are available by calling (888) 228-3630 or by ordering on the web at www.daytonphilharmonic.com.
