DAYTON, OH (April 14, 2011) – The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra will present a special recital by its concertmaster, Jessica Hung, with assisting musicians Joshua Nemith, piano and Robert Johnson, horn, on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the NCR Renaissance Auditorium of the Dayton Art Institute. Nemith and Johnson are both principal musicians with the DPO.
The recital will offer a varied program featuring music from the Baroque, Romantic, and Modern eras. Music from the “Three B’s” – Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms – will be performed, with a fourth B coming from African-American composer David Baker. The complete program will be J.S. Bach’s Sonata for Solo Violin No. 2; Baker’s Blues, for Violin and Piano; Beethoven’s Romance No. 1 in G Major; and, with Mr. Johnson, the Trio for Horn, Violin, and Piano in E Flat Major by Johannes Brahms.
