Pianist Jon Nakamatsu, Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra members to perform
On Tuesday May 9, at 8pm, Guest Artist-In-Residence Pianist Jon Nakamatsu and seven members of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra will perform in a free recital at Christ Episcopal Church, 20 West First Street, Dayton.
The second of two free concerts included in what is known collectively as Amadeus Downtown, this recital is part of the NCR Miracle of Mozart Festival, the DPO’s celebration of the 250th birthday of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Pianist Jon Nakamatsu and the DPO members will perform Mozart’s Piano Quartet No. 2 in E-flat major, K. 493 and Mozart’s Piano and Wind Quintet in E-flat major, K. 452. DPO Music Director Neal Gittleman will host. The festival includes free community events such as this one, as well as a Mozart Piano Concerto Series and regular classical season concerts.
