World-renowned orchestra to conclude 12-City North American Tour in Dayton
Under the leadership of Vice-Director Guan Xia, the China National Symphony Orchestra will visit the Schuster Center in Dayton on Monday, May 22, 2006. Under the direction of DPO Music Director Neal Gittleman, the CNSO will perform Shostakovich’s Festive Overture, op. 96 and Gong-Qian Yang’s Nature and Me. CNSO Conductor Xincao Li will lead the orchestra in Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade.
Dayton is the final stop on the CNSO’s 12-city 2006 North American Tour. The other cities the CNSO will have performed in include San Francisco; Los Angeles; New York City; Long Island University; Bethesda, Maryland; Worcester, Massachusetts; Boston; Cornell University; Buffalo, Toronto, and Chicago. The CNSO is one of the most outstanding professional symphony orchestras in China.
