New Beginnings
April 12-14, 2024 | Victoria Theatre
New Beginnings offers a glimpse of the exciting new era that lies before the Dayton Ballet. The Ballet’s new Artistic Director will handpick the repertoire for this performance, sharing a sampling of their vision for the next generation of the historic company. Sample a variety of dance genres at this exciting repertory performance!
Steve Hackman’s Tchaikovsky X. Drake

Dayton Philharmonic’s Rockin’ Orchestra series presents one-of-a-kind musical fusions, but you’ve never seen anything like Tchaikovsky X. Drake!
Experience a one-of-a-kind fusion, blending music from two composer-romanticists separated by a century. R&B/hip-hop artist Drake’s melodies weave throughout Tchaikovsky’s epic Fifth Symphony, pushing musical bounds and new sounds. Three singers, a rapper, a drummer, a bassist, and a pianist join the Philharmonic to create a performance that seamlessly blends a 19th-century symphony with 21st-century hip-hop.
Huddle Up: Music of Sports

Get your dose of sports and music at Huddle Up: Music of Sports! Conductor—and our sportscaster for the evening—Neal Gittleman leads the Philharmonic in a fun-for-the-whole-family concert that celebrates the music of sports! From football fight songs to figure skating waltzes, this concert covers the soundtrack for those moments of triumph and heartache, great athleticism, and bad calls. It’s an evening full of fun, celebrity guests, and one surprise after another!
Season Opening Celebration: Prince Orlofsky’s Grand Masquerade

Okay, maybe the Ballet, Opera, and Philharmonic can’t be considered genres, but our Season Opening Celebration is the best way to experience the array of DPAA’s offerings in one fantastical performance!
All three art forms—Opera, Philharmonic, and Ballet—take the stage in an evening of extravagant celebration. At the heart of the performance is Act II from Strauss’s comic opera, Fledermaus (Revenge of the Bat). Join the party—you never know who is going to show up!
Holiday Pops with Canadian Brass
December 2, 2023 | Schuster Center
The world’s most famous brass quintet joins the Philharmonic in this special holiday concert! Renowned for genrebending versatility and joyous performances, Canadian Brass has performed in virtually every major concert hall in the world; been seen by hundreds of millions on stage and on television; and contributed over 600 new works and arrangements to the brass quintet repertoire.
Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
November 4 and 5 | Victoria Theatre
Performed on Broadway and in opera houses worldwide, the Tony Award-winning modern masterpiece boasts razor-sharp wit and a brilliant score. Sweeney Todd tells the grisly story of a murderous barber and his deranged sidekick who serve up vengeance with a tasty side of dark humor.
Sweeney Todd will excite those new to opera and shake things up for long-time Dayton Opera-goers.
New World Symphony
June 7 and 8, 2024 | Schuster Center
DPAA honors Black Music Month by celebrating African American musical traditions. On the second half of the program, a community choir joins the orchestra to recognize and recount the African American experience through spiritual and gospel anthems.
