DAYTON, OH (Dec.16, 2022) – Dayton Performing Arts Alliance (DPAA) salutes the New Year with a Parisian- themed evening performed by Dayton Ballet, Dayton Opera, and Dayton Philharmonic Saturday, Dec. 31 at 7:30 pm in the Schuster Center. The evening includes selections from La bohème and Phantom of the Opera; Strauss’s The Blue Danube; Gershwin’s An American in Paris; La Vie en Rose; and much more! Plus, enjoy champagne at intermission and a celebratory balloon drop. Enjoy the evening and be home before the Times Square Ball drops! Tickets are on sale now. DPAA’s Artistic Directors Neal Gittleman (Dayton Philharmonic), Kathleen Clawson (Dayton Opera), and Karen Russo Burke (Dayton Ballet) have collaborated to create an evening of Parisian music and dance showcasing the talents of the three art forms that encompass Dayton Performing Arts Alliance. The program features the talents of violinist Aurelian Oprea, Acting Concertmaster for Dayton Philharmonic; soprano Heather Phillips; tenor Derrek Stark; and Dayton Ballet company members Jasmine Getz, Isaac Jones, and Patrick Lennon. Make DPAA part of your New Year’s Eve celebration! DPAA’s Voyage a Paris concert includes a flute of complimentary champagne (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) during intermission. It finishes with a colorful balloon drop as the orchestra leads the audience in Auld Lang Syne. Festivities end before 10 p.m. to allow audiences to call it a night or move to another celebration.
