DAYTON, OH (March 12, 2019) – On Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 8 pm in the Mead Theatre of the Schuster Center, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, under the leadership of Conductor Patrick Reynolds, will present the fifth concert in the 2018–2019 Dayton Freight Rockin’ Orchestra Series, Top Twenty Rock Hits of All Time. The Dayton Philharmonic welcomes to the stage Dayton favorite Jeans ‘n Classics for a night that celebrates the greatest rock hits of all time!
The Rockin’ Orchestra series continues this March with a visit from our friends up north in Canada—Jeans ‘n Classics. Founder and lead guitarist Peter Brennan and the talented musicians from this Dayton-favorite band join the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra for a night of the greatest rock hits to ever storm the charts.
For nearly 20 years, Jeans ’n Classics has been performing with orchestras around the country in shows combining world-class rock musicians and symphony orchestras, and the DPO is thrilled to have them back in the house at the Schuster. Joining Peter Brennan on stage are David Blamires, Jean Meilleur, Rique Franks, Kathryn Rose and Johnny Rutledge on vocals, Dave Dunlop as featured guitarist, John Regan on keyboard, Mitch Tyler on bass, and Jeff Christmas on drums. Providing the harmonizing Rockin’ background vocals for this concert will be the Dayton Vocal Project, under the direction of Hank Dahlman.
So what ARE the top twenty rock hits of all time? A performance celebrating the top rock hits of all time must include the likes of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Moody Blues, and, no doubt, Queen! Will your favorites make the list?
Come feel the “Good Vibrations” of the approaching spring season and check out “What’s Goin’ On” at the Schuster on March 30. You’ll be dancing in your seat, dancing in the aisles, or even “Dancing in the Streets”! We promise that with Jeans ‘n Classics and the DPO together on stage, most definitely, “We Will ROCK You!”
Tickets for Top Twenty Rock Hits of All Time begin at $24 and are available at Ticket Center Stage (937) 228-3630 or online at www.daytonperformingarts.org. About the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance
The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance was formed in July 2012 as the result of a groundbreaking and innovative merger between the Dayton Ballet, the Dayton Opera, and the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. Together, they are the largest performing arts organization in the community, offering a tremendous variety of performance and education programs and setting a new standard for artistic excellence. Dayton Performing Arts Alliance performances are made possible in part by Montgomery County and Culture Works, the single largest source of community funds for the arts and culture in the Miami Valley. The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance also receives partial funding from the Ohio Arts Council, a state agency created to foster and encourage the development of the arts and to preserve Ohio’s cultural heritage. Funding from the Ohio Arts Council is an investment of state tax dollars that promotes economic growth, educational excellence, and cultural enrichment for all Ohio residents. In 2013, The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance was thrilled to be one of five performing arts organizations in the country selected to receive a three-year “Music Alive” grant from New Music USA and the League of American Orchestras. The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance is the proud recipient of a 2017-2018 Art Works grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
