DAYTON, OH (Sept. 20, 2022) – Dayton Performing Arts Alliance proudly announces the hiring of Jeaunita Chateau Olowe as the new Vice-President of Learning and Community Engagement.

The arts are for everyone, and Jeaunita will be a key player in helping young people and new communities to fall in love with the classical performing arts. She brings extraordinarily wide and deep background to this crucial work.”
Olowe, an arts educator and performing artist for more than 25 years, comes to Dayton from Northern Kentucky University School for Theater and Arts, where she taught dance, theatre, fitness, and recently developed a general education course. She is an Ohio Art Council TeachArts Ohio Grant Recipient, teaching cultural social-emotional learning at Chase Elementary Arts and Culture School in Cincinnati, and Multi-Cultural Arts Education Teaching Specialist and Consultant for Cincinnati Public Schools. Olowe was the first Director of Education & Outreach and the Ballet School Administrator and for Cincinnati Ballet where she developed In-Step and CincyDance programs, and school structure.
Olowe will be responsible for learning programs which span fourteen counties and cover instrumental music, dance, and opera, reflecting the three art forms offered by DPAA’s professional productions. These include a robust youth orchestra system, a 95-year-old ballet school, orchestra concerts for school students, and a wide variety of programs offered in classrooms around the region. In peak years, these programs serve up to 75,000 students and teachers.
