Aaron Brant is Principal Horn for the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also a member of the Dayton Philharmonic Brass Quintet and the beloved Carillon Brass. Aaron Brant also plays Principal Horn in the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and teaches horn at the University of Dayton. During the summer, Aaron is an Artist-In-Residence as a member of the Spectrum Brass at the Bay View Music Festival, a chamber music festival for advanced college students.
Before coming to Dayton, Aaron was the principal horn of the South Bend Symphony for four seasons. In South Bend he made his solo debut in 2009, performing Richard Strauss’s Horn Concerto No. 1. He was also a member of the South Bend Symphony woodwind quintet and served on faculty at the Donald A. Dake summer chamber music academy for advanced high school students. Aaron spent four seasons as third horn of the Ann Arbor Symphony, frequently filling in as principal horn. He is a regular substitute with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and has also performed extensively with the Grand Rapids Symphony.
In addition to orchestral work spread over eight states, Aaron has performed with a wide range of crossover, jazz and pop artists such as Josh Groban, Diana Krall, Mannheim Steamroller and Andrea Bocelli.
His primary teachers were Alan DeMattia of the Cleveland Orchestra; Randy Gardner, formerly of the Philadelphia Orchestra; and Peter Landgren, formerly of the Baltimore Symphony.
