Catherine Voorhees is thrilled to return to Dayton Ballet for her third season. A Cincinnati native, Catherine began her training at Le Jeune Dance Academy and continued her studies through intensives with renowned companies and schools such as Ellison Ballet, Joffrey Ballet Academy, BalletMet, and Carolina Ballet. Her professional career began in 2020 as a Trainee with BalletMet in Columbus, Ohio, where she had the opportunity to perform in exciting repertoire by choreographers such as Edwaard Liang, Gerard Charles, and George Balanchine.
After a season with Cleveland Ballet, she returned to Cincinnati to dance with Cincinnati Ballet as a Trainee, where she had the opportunity to perform works including George Balanchine’s “Emeralds,” the Soloist in “Walpurgisnacht Ballet,” and Victoria Morgan’s “The Nutcracker.”
Since joining Dayton Ballet in 2024, Catherine has danced a variety of roles, including the Lilac Fairy in “The Sleeping Beauty” and the Fairy Godmother in Brandon Ragland’s “Cinderella.” She is grateful to continue growing as an artist with Dayton Ballet and looks forward to another season of dancing, creating, and connecting with audiences.
