Davi Martinelli de Lira joined the Dayton Philharmonic as Temporary Second Percussionist in 2019.
Well-known as an international chamber and orchestral musician, he is a current member of the Southwest Florida Symphony and has also worked with the New World Symphony, Sarasota Symphony, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and other orchestras abroad. He has performed in several countries of the Americas, including Dominican Republic, Brazil, Jamaica, Mexico and Canada.
Along with his profession in orchestral performance, Davi is pursuing his Professional Studies Certificate at the Colburn Conservatory of Music, in Los Angeles, CA, where he studies with Ted Atkatz. In 2016 he obtained his Master of Music in Percussion Performance from Cleveland State University where he studied with Tom Freer, and he recently graduated with a Professional Performance Certificate from Lynn University.
Davi has enjoyed attending multiple music festivals, such as Aspen Music Festival, National Orchestra Institute, Orchestra of the Americas, and National Repertory Orchestra, where he was a featured soloist.
