Recently named Principal Trumpet of the Dayton Philharmonic, Eli Ross is also a freelance musician in the Twin Cities and a DMA candidate at the University of Minnesota.
Holding degrees from Indiana University and New England Conservatory, his teachers included John Rommel, Tom Siders and Ben Wright. Born into a family of distinguished musicians, Eli grew up in Minneapolis, studying with Robert Dorer and Manny Laureano.
1st Prize winner of the International Trumpet Guild High School Solo Competition, he spent summers at Interlochen studying with John Aley and Vince DiMartino. Later festivals include Aspen, Round Top, and Lakes Area.
Eli has performed as a substitute with the Minnesota Orchestra, as Guest Principal of the Thunder Bay Symphony and with the Rochester and La Crosse Symphonies.
