Emma Duncan joined Dayton Ballet in 2023 after extensive training at International Ballet School and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s second company. With Dayton Ballet, Emma has performed a wide range of classical and contemporary repertoire. Her roles include Myrtha in Giselle, Autumn Fairy in Cinderella, Snow Queen and Arabian in The Nutcracker, as well as featured roles in Swan Lake and Coppélia. She has also appeared in works by choreographers such as George Balanchine, Adam Hougland, and Brandon Ragland.
Prior to joining Dayton Ballet, Emma trained and performed with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, appearing in productions including Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and Sleeping Beauty, as well as contemporary repertoire. She received her foundational training at International Ballet School under the direction of Slava Mesropov and Sandra Carlson.
Emma has received recognition at several international ballet competitions, including 2nd Place at the Universal Ballet Competition (2023) and 1st Place at the Youth America Grand Prix Denver semifinals (2019). She is also a recipient of the Hazel Smart Patterson award from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
