Gabrielle Flannery joins the Artists in Residence this season as soprano soloist for educational programing and community outreach concerts. In the fall, she performed as Lucy in Dracula: Bloodlines with the Dayton Ballet and performed as a soloist in Dayton Opera’s production of Sweeney Todd.
Earlier this season Gabrielle performed with Bay View Music Festival as the title role in Suor Angelica, Nella in Gianni Schicchi, and performed as a soloist with the American Spiritual Intensive. She performed Abby in the world premiere of Jorge Sosa and Melisa Tien’s opera The Beehive with University of Northern Iowa Opera Theatre and was featured as a soloist with the Metropolitan Chorale. Last summer, Gabrielle was a Young Artist with Bay View Music Festival and performed as Musetta in La bohème. Gabrielle received her undergraduate degree from Lee University and will receive her master’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa this season. Ms. Flannery is a native of Dayton, OH, but is presently based in Waterloo, IA.
