Jasmine Getz is from Chicago, Illinois and began dancing at the age of 3. Her pre-professional training began at Faubourg school of Ballet under the direction of Tatyana Mazur. She then continued at the Joffrey Ballet in their pre-professional division and trainee program from 2015-2018.
She attended summer programs at Bolshoi Ballet, Joffrey Ballet in Chicago, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and Ballet Austin. Jasmine has worked with a multitude of choreographers that include Ronn Stewart, Preston Miller, Paul Boo from the Balanchine Trust, Shannon Alvis, Jimmy Orrante, Sean Aaron Carmon, and Omar Roman.
From 2019-2021 she joined Ballet Austin’s second company. Some of her professional credits include roles in the Grand Pas from Paquita and Les Syphilde staged by Michelle Martin, Stephen Mills’ The Nutcracker and Giselle, George Balanchine’s Rubies, August Bournonville’s Napoli divertissements, and Joshua Manculich’s Menagerie.
Jasmine is grateful and excited to be joining Dayton Ballet as a company member for her third season. Jasmine would also like to thank her parents and teachers for all their love and support.
