Krista Weiss is thrilled to be joining the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra as Second and E-Flat Clarinet. In addition to her position with the DPO, Krista is also an active freelancer and has recently performed with the Cincinnati Symphony, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony, Louisville Orchestra, Lexington Philharmonic, Queen City Opera, Springfield Symphony, Blue Ash Montgomery Symphony, and Richmond (IN) Symphony Orchestra.
Krista earned both her Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music degrees in Clarinet Performance from Indiana University, where she was a student of Eli Eban. She currently serves as the Clarinet Professor and Woodwind Area Coordinator at Northern Kentucky University and is also an active clinician and private teacher in the Cincinnati area. Since 2013, Krista has served as an Artist Clinician for D’Addario Woodwinds. Through her work with D’Addario, she has presented sessions on woodwind fundamentals and equipment at middle schools, high schools, colleges, and music conferences across the country.
