Kyan comes to Dayton Ballet from Lewis Center, Ohio. He began competitive dance in all genres at the age of 5 and narrowed his focus to ballet at 15 when he began dancing at Columbus City Ballet under the direction of the late Shir Lee Wu. In 2021 and 2023 Kyan was a trainee with BalletMet in Columbus, Ohio. While at BalletMet, under the direction of Andres Estevez, Kyan performed the Grand Pas de Trois as Ali and Pas D’Esclave as Lankendem from Le Corsaire. In 2021, Kyan trained at United Ballet Theatre in Orlando, Florida under founder and artistic director, Joseph Gatti. While at UBT, Kyan performed the role of the Golden Idol from La Bayadere and in a contemporary piece, Quintessence choreographed by James Boyd. In 2023 Kyan was accepted into the prestigious U.S.A International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Mississippi. Kyan is excited to begin his second season as a company member of Dayton Ballet.
