Maggie Niekamp is an active violinist and teacher based in Cincinnati, performing in orchestral, chamber music, and contemporary projects across the region.
In addition to performing with the Dayton Philharmonic, Maggie serves as an Associate Violinist with the Columbus Symphony. She has spent summers performing with ensembles including the National Repertory Orchestra, the Spoleto Festival USA Orchestra, and the Des Moines Metro Opera Orchestra.
Maggie began playing the violin at the age of four in her hometown of Akron, Ohio. She earned her Master’s in Violin Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Timothy Lees, former Concertmaster of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. She received her BM in Violin Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying with Stephen Rose, Principal Second Violinist of The Cleveland Orchestra, and Brian Lewis.
