Miriam Rosenthal Chair
Michael LaMattina serves at the Director of Percussion Studies at Miami University and holds the position of Principal Percussion with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. He also performs as an extra and substitute player with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and is the Principal Percussionist with the Lancaster Festival Orchestra during the summer. Previous positions include Principal Percussion with The Colorado Music Festival in Boulder, CO, Principal Timpani & Percussion of the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra of Columbus, and associate section percussion with the Columbus Symphony. Additionally he performs as an extra and substitute musician with the Indianapolis Symphony, and has performed with the Atlanta Symphony. Michael attended the Oberlin Conservatory of Music where he earned his Bachelor of Music Degree in performance and received his MM in performance from Cleveland State University.
