Junior Strings Conductor Michelle Mastin holds a bachelor’s of Music from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, a master’s in Music from The Eastman School of Music, and a Professional Studies Diploma from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music—all in Viola Performance. While in San Francisco, she pursued Suzuki training, earning credits in all violin books and several viola books. She also has training in the Sassmanshaus Method and Music Mind Games. Mastin taught privately for many years and taught for Harmony Project Bay Area where she oversaw group violin classes and conducted the beginning and intermediate string orchestras. She is a member of the Greater Dayton Suzuki Association and on the board of the Yellow Springs Youth Orchestra Association. She lives in Yellow Springs with her family, many chickens, and a pig named Leonard.
