Ms. Nadine Monchecourt has been a long-standing orchestra musician playing cello for the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra (DPO), having originally joined the ensemble in 1988.Other Ensembles: Over her career, she has performed across multiple seasons with the Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Columbus Symphony Orchestra, and the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival. She served as the Executive Director and a Suzuki cello teacher for the Suzuki Collaborative of Cincinnati Public Schools, leading extracurricular music programming. She also acted as the lead teacher and cello mentor for “Q the Music,” an intensive youth development music program run through the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance.
She trained in her youth at the Eastman School of Music Preparatory Department before earning a Bachelor of Music (B.M.) in Cello and a Master of Music (M.M.) / Master of Arts (M.A.) in Arts Administration from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She is a recipient of prestigious fellowship awards from both the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the National Orchestral Association.
