Rich Begel, from Long Island, NY, completed music education and performance degrees at The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, New England Conservatory, and also attended Michigan State University. He now manages The Flying Klezmerians (Klezmer band) and En Fuego (Latin trio).
Rich is also a member of The Klaberheads, the Dayton Philharmonic, The Satchmo Show, and writes and performs educational programs that are performed in the Dayton-area schools through Muse Machine. Rich has also performed with the Cincinnati Symphony, Tanglewood Festival Orchestra, Spoleto Festival, Boston Ballet, Summit Brass, Canadian Brass, Weird Al Yankovic, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, The Beach Boys, Indigo Girls, The Temptations, Sarah McLachlan, John Pizzarelli, Arturo Sandoval, Dave Brubeck, and more.
He teaches general music at Hillel Academy of Dayton, band at The Dayton Regional STEM School, and lessons at Sinclair Community College, Earlham College, Indiana University East, McCutcheon Music, and in his home studio. He is a Trombone Artist for the Edwards Band Instrument Company.
