Dayton Contemporary Dance Company and Dayton Ballet unite for Rhythm of the City, an electrifying celebration of funk brought to life through extraordinary dance. Choreographers Alia Kache, Gary W. Jeter II, and Brandon Ragland translate the sounds of Ohio Players, Zapp, Heatwave, Lakeside, Faze-O, Shirley Murdock, and more into movement you have to see to believe—including the world premiere of a brand new composition by LaFrae Sci. And between every act, Deron Bell & the Time To Groove House Band keep the funk live, loud, and in the room with you. You don’t have to know about dance to feel every single moment.
