You’re the studio audience for a delicious double feature! Savor the delightful antics of Julia Child as she whips up her signature chocolate cake in Bon Appétit.
Then, The Cook-Off turns up the heat. This fresh new comedic opera unfolds during a televised cooking competition, where high stakes and bigger personalities take center stage. Grammy-nominated composer Shawn E. Okpebholo and Pulitzer Prize and Grammy Award-winning librettist Mark Campbell have whipped up a delightful concoction, as moving as it is hilarious.
Baked with charm, humor, and the joy of cooking, this operatic duo will leave you laughing—and maybe a little hungry!
This opera is presented in conjunction with the University of Dayton’s Alumni Chair in the Humanities’ Food and Cultural Festival. Learn more here.
