Rock ’n’ Roll All Night Long at the 2019 Dayton Performing Arts Alliance: ON THE ROCKS on November 9 at the Schuster Center

DAYTON, OH (October 18, 2019)
— The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance (DPAA) is excited to announce its annual fundraising event on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in Dayton’s beautiful Benjamin and Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center. This event of the season brings together all that is special about the three arts organizations comprising the DPAA — Dayton Ballet, Dayton Opera and Dayton Philharmonic — weaving them into a one-of-a-kind experience as special and groundbreaking as the DPAA itself.

Its charter formalized in July 2012, the DPAA is the first nonprofit organization in the U.S. to simultaneously manage a symphony orchestra, an opera company and a ballet company while still maintaining the individuality of the three art forms. All three artistic organizations have maintained their distinct identities while uniting to create enhanced programming. ON THE ROCKS will showcase these distinct identities and demonstrate how they work together to produce an evening to remember.

ON THE ROCKS is the Un-Gala: a new twist on a popular annual favorite. You are invited to join us on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center. From 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., indulge in rock music through the ages while supporting our electrifying performing arts community.

The evening will feature Dayton favorite Jeans ’n Classics in a unique collaboration with Dayton Ballet, Dayton Opera, and Dayton Philharmonic that will rock the arts in a whole new way!

Enjoy food and drinks fit for a rock star, including a sumptuous dinner, open bar, and a spectacular silent auction featuring unique experiences and memorabilia. Dress as your favorite rocker—jeans with a suit jacket and a concert t-shirt, a twist on black tie with a hint of the 80s, or rock couture that’s fit for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Be comfortable and ready to dance on the Mead Theatre stage in an evening that will rock the arts to 11!

The following is the schedule of events planned for this fabulous night of celebration:
6:00 p.m. — Cocktails and Silent Auction
7:00 p.m. — Performance in the Mead Theatre with Jeans ’n Classics and the DPAA
8:00 p.m. — Dinner in the Wintergarden
9:30 – 11:00 p.m. — Music by River City and dancing on the Mead Theatre stage

About the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance
The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance was formed in July 2012 as the result of a groundbreaking and innovative merger between the Dayton Ballet, the Dayton Opera, and the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. Together, they are the largest performing arts organization in the community, offering a tremendous variety of performance and education programs and setting a new standard for artistic excellence. Dayton Performing Arts Alliance performances are made possible in part by Montgomery County and Culture Works, the single largest source of community funds for the arts and culture in the Miami Valley. The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance also receives partial funding from the Ohio Arts Council, a state agency created to foster and encourage the development of the arts and to preserve Ohio’s cultural heritage. Funding from the Ohio Arts Council is an investment of state tax dollars that promotes economic growth, educational excellence, and cultural enrichment for all Ohio residents. In 2013, The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance was thrilled to be one of five performing arts organizations in the country selected to receive a three-year “Music Alive” grant from New Music USA and the League of American Orchestras. The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance is the proud recipient of a 2017-2018 Art Works grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
