DAYTON, OH (January 24, 2025) – The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance (DPAA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Elaine Gounaris as Vice President for Philanthropy. With over 20 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, Gounaris has a distinguished record of leading successful campaigns in individual giving, major gifts, grants, and corporate sponsorships. In her new role, she will spearhead DPAA’s advancement initiatives, leveraging her strategic expertise and deep connections within the community.
Patrick J. Nugent, President and CEO of DPAA, comments: “Elaine has a long and distinguished reputation as a fundraising leader in both Dayton and Columbus. She has been a major force behind some of Dayton’s legendary fundraising events. Her association with the Dayton Ballet dates back to early childhood, so we are delighted that she has come full circle back to her artistic home at DPAA.”
Gounaris joins DPAA following a successful tenure at the Dayton Art Institute, where she expanded philanthropic support and managed the museum’s signature fundraising events, including Art Ball and Oktoberfest. Prior to that, she led development efforts at Equitas Health and the Wexner Center for the Arts at The Ohio State University.
A longtime resident of Oakwood, Gounaris has been deeply involved in the community, serving on the boards of the Wright Library Foundation and SICSA (Society for the Improvement of Conditions for Stray Animals). Beyond her professional and civic engagements, she enjoys reading, gardening, and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes.
The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance is thrilled to welcome Elaine Gounaris to its leadership team and looks forward to her contributions in strengthening the organization’s philanthropic impact.
