DAYTON, OH (October 11, 2016) – On Friday, November 4, 2016 at 8 p.m. in the Mead Theatre of the Schuster Center, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Conductor Patrick Reynolds, will present Landslide: The Music of Fleetwood Mac, the second concert in the 2016–2017 Dayton Freight Rockin’ Orchestra Series.
Since 1967, rock band Fleetwood Mac has enchanted listeners and gathered devoted fans. Founding members John McVie and Mick Fleetwood were later joined by Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks, becoming the most durable and successful iteration of the band. Their 1977 Rumours album is the eighth best-selling album of all time, with sales exceeding 40 million copies. Rumours planted itself at the top of the pop charts for over 31 weeks and had four top-ten singles. Several band members have broken away for periods of time to launch successful solo careers, but somehow, they have found themselves continually drawn back to each other and the spirit of Fleetwood Mac, joining together as recently as 2012 to launch a 34-city US tour in a year, marking the 35th anniversary of their most successful album, Rumours.
The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and guest band Landslide will join together in the world-class Schuster Center on November 4 to pay homage to Fleetwood Mac, as they dazzle the audience with many of Rumours’ top-ten singles and so many other hits from this iconic band. The DPO welcomes to the stage Landslide band members James Wollam, Stephen Ferlazzo, Stephen Fekete, Dan Kalisher on guitar, and vocalists Alisha Zalkin and Jennifer Fekete.
The concert will include smash hits from Fleetwood Mac and from band member solo careers, including “Go Your Own Way,” “Gypsy,” “Everywhere,” “Hold Me,” “Rhiannon,” “Say You Love Me,” “Big Love,” “The Chain,” “Edge Of Seventeen,” “Stand Back,” “Little Lies,” “Second Hand News,” “Gold Dust Woman,” “You Make Lovin’ Fun,” “Tusk,” “Dreams,” and of course, “Landslide.”
“Don’t Stop” thinking about tomorrow; Don’t Stop, it’ll soon be here…..so make sure that your plans on November 4 include this incredible performance!
